In Comparative Civilizations/Art 12 you will study and compare ancient civilizations. Art 12 provides experienced art students with the opportunity to study art and relate your projects to the CCN course, and to develop a useable portfolio for post secondary schools.
- This is not an online course. This website is a resource that should complement the course seminars, presentations and discussions that will take place in school. Your attendance in class is mandatory.
- This project-based course intends to develop an appreciation for diversity within and among cultures.
- You should be both a motivated and an experienced artist and you should be willing to explore a variety of artistic techniques throughout the course.
- You should be ready & willing to gain knowledge & expand your skills by working on at least five art projects within the span of the term.
- In addition to the art components of the course, there will be research projects, presentations, group work & debates.
- This course does not have a government exam, but there is ongoing assessment and there is a final exam.
- The Comparative Civilizations 12 course fulfills the approved Grade 12 level admission requirements for many universities.
